Frequently asked questions
What this is, the v018 strategy, how it’s validated, and how to inquire.
What this is
What is cryptolab.nexus?+−
v018 — a physics-based, market-neutral systematic crypto strategy. We model 20 crypto assets as a live physics simulation and built v018 on what that model reveals. This site is a public showcase of the strategy and its results; v018 is available for acquisition.
What's actually for sale?+−
The intellectual property, not a subscription:
- The v018 live strategy — full codebase and model checkpoints.
- The 20-coin physics universe-simulation engine it reads from.
- v018’s complete validation — the walk-forward backtests, the robustness sweep, and the crash analysis.
- This platform and its tooling.
Who is this for?+−
Funds, proprietary trading shops, or platforms that want a deployed, validated market-neutral crypto strategy and the full regime-research methodology — rather than building it from scratch.
The v018 strategy
What is the v018 strategy?+−
v018 is a market-neutral long/short crypto-futures basket. It holds a concentrated long position in the universe’s leading names against a short basket of its weakest, laddered across multiple hold horizons, and opens positions only when the physics model reads a favorable regime. The performance section on the home page shows its equity curve through backtest, then live, against buy-and-hold BTC.
How has it performed?+−
v018, walk-forward / out-of-sample where noted:
- Backtest +845% cumulative (Sharpe +2.7), max drawdown −20%.
- Market-neutral — beta −0.02 to BTC; it held flat-to-up through the market crashes that sank buy-and-hold.
- Out-of-sample validated; on the cleanest held-out window (~5 months) the Sharpe held rather than collapsing.
What's the physics model behind it?+−
The 20 coins are simulated as particles in a force field whose internal forces derive from market behavior — when prices co-move the particles cluster, when they decouple they separate. Four geometric lenses read the shape of those configurations to classify which regime the universe is in. The market’s structure, not hand-built indicators, drives the signal. The exact feature construction, thresholds, and model internals are part of what transfers in an acquisition and aren’t published here.
Validation & honesty
How is performance validated?+−
Walk-forward with a held-out out-of-sample fold, and modeled execution cost (15 basis points per leg, above typical live cost on majors). We label in-sample vs out-of-sample explicitly and lead with the out-of-sample figures — the in-sample numbers are always the flattering ones, so they’re not the ones to trust.
Do you re-fit the models to flatter the results?+−
No — and we document our own mistakes. A recent example: a long-basket weighting in v018 had been set heavy on the coin that performed best in-sample. An out-of-sample re-test showed that weighting was overfit (the coin was the best in training and the worst out-of-sample), so we reverted it to equal-weight, which validated better on held-out data. The numbers on this site reflect the corrected, more conservative version. That kind of self-correction is the standard the v018 numbers are held to.
Is past performance a guarantee of future returns?+−
No. Regimes change, live execution can surprise you, and any edge can erode as capital crowds in. Backtested and walk-forward results describe what happened, not what will. Live track records here are early and labeled as such.
The Galaxy Map page
What's on the Galaxy Map page?+−
The physics engine behind v018: the four geometric models that read the 20-coin universe, and the regime fingerprint they produce. It’s a showcase of the engine an acquirer would receive — the live 3D regime map is the centerpiece of the home page, and v018’s performance is on the backtest page.
Acquisition & contact
How do I inquire about acquisition?+−
Email support@cryptolab.nexus with “acquisition” in the subject. Diligence — full methodology, walk-forward validation, and a live data review — is available under NDA. A real human reads everything; reasonable response window is 24 hours.
How else can I reach you?+−
Use the contact form or email support@cryptolab.nexus directly. Security disclosures: put “security” in the subject for priority routing.
